Renewable energy and fuel developer, Aeternum Capital, has announced the appointment of Richard Day as Consultant Advisor for their lubricants and bio-diesel blending facility in Bromborough. Richard brings with him a wealth of experience and an excellent track record, having achieved success in a number of senior roles in the global fluid technology sector.

Richard is an experienced general manager who has commercial, technical, operational and business development skills from a career spanning more than twenty years in the energy sector. He joins Aeternum from his previous role at Vickers Oils, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of lubricants for the marine and textiles markets.

After beginning his career at Esso Petroleum, Richard joined Lubrizol, a global specialty chemicals manufacturer working to develop solutions for the transportation, industrial and consumer markets. During his time with the company, Richard achieved major successes by utilising his market expertise to expand the company’s product range on the international stage.

Whilst at Lubrizol, Richard rose through the ranks to become General Manager of Lubrizol's UK manufacturing facility at Bromborough, which Aeternum acquired in December 2010.

Speaking after his appointment, Richard Day commented:

“As the UK strives to switch to more sustainable sources of fuel, oil blending facilities are increasingly in demand.

“Aeternum’s investment in bio-diesel production at Bromborough means we will be in a strong position to begin to make the low carbon transition.

“I’m looking forward to tackling this new challenge and driving forward Aeternum’s growth in this sector.”

David Frohnsdorff, Partner at Aeternum, commented:

“We’re delighted to welcome Richard to the Aeternum team. Richard has been successful in developing product ranges and motivating those around him wherever he has worked, and his background in fluid technologies means that he is a valuable addition to the team as we seek to expand our renewable energy and fuel portfolio.”
