ISG takes office fit out scheme at ROYAL EXCHANGE

ISG has secured a £730K project with real estate investment manager PRUPIM to refurbish office accommodation at the prestigious Royal Exchange building in Manchester. The contractor will upgrade and reconfigure half of the first floor to deliver two new high specification offices with approximate sizes of 7370 sq ft and 3660 sq ft, as demand for prime, city centre commercial accommodation continues to strengthen.

The fast-track office refurbishment sees ISG working within the grade II listed Victorian building to create the two new open plan offices by rationalising a number of smaller units. ISG will strip out and upgrade existing mechanical and electrical services, install new data cabling as well as raised access floors and suspended ceilings. Windows will be repaired and refurbished and new welfare facilities formed using high quality materials and finishes.

Jim Parker, ISG’s regional director, commented: "As the economy shows some signs of recovery, we are witnessing an increase in the volume of speculative commercial office fit out projects. Prestigious Grade A accommodation continues to be highly prized, especially within regionally important buildings such as the Royal Exchange, and we anticipate a high demand for this revitalised space.”

PRUPIM manages the site for Prudential PLC. The letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle.
