Yorkshire husband and wife team Mark and Jacqueline Bell have been handcrafting wedding bands and bespoke commissions for some 5 years, but this Christmas sees something a little extraordinary leaving their home studio in Yorkshire.

This December Mark, the goldsmith in this artisan duo is working around the clock to supply the demand for their Tree for a Tree Initiative.

The pair have partnered with the charity Trees for Life in their mission to replant the native Caledonian Forest in Scotland after its tree population was dwindling.

Jacqueline and Edward have promised that for every Christmas Tree pendant sold this Christmas a tree will be planted in the Caledonian Forest in the name of the gift-givers loved one.

“In 2018 alone, the initiative enjoyed a record-breaking year. The total number of trees planted by the charity itself reached 116,896, with 44,781 of that number being planted by volunteers. That’s 170 new acres of forest!

The charity is currently experiencing a significant period of growth, with collaborations with more owners of the UK’s woodlands on the cards. Furthermore, the Caledonian Forest’s highly regarded tree nursery at Dundreggan is continuing to grow 94,000 trees each year. This helps the charity add to rainforest restoration in Scotland.

“We care deeply about preserving the beautiful world we live in, as you know, and our partnership with Trees for Life helps us strengthen our commitment. We have our very own corporate grove in Scotland, and we’ve been contributing to it regularly, planting trees in a bid to ‘give back’ to nature.”

Treat someone and do something good this Christmas.
