The School of Life Sciences (SLS) is an international centre of excellence in interdisciplinary research and teaching. SLS is a BBSRC strategic partner department, but also works with MRC, NERC, EPSRC, the Wellcome Trust, and other UK and international funding organisations to pursue its research programmes.

The breadth of cutting-edge research in SLS underpins teaching programmes exploring the full range of bioscience. The School was ranked second in the UK for Agriculture, Food and Veterinary research in the Government's 2014 research ranking exercise. Overall more than 80% of life sciences research was rated as 'World Leading or Internationally Excellent'.

Warwick offers a range of popular undergraduate and postgraduate degrees reflecting our expertise across a diversity of Life Science disciplines. Modern teaching laboratories and good teaching and learning support provide our students with flexible and relevant programmes and the opportunity to study alongside world-class researchers and academics.

We provide our students with a wide range of skills that prepare them for a wide range of careers. Our four-year integrated Masters (MBio) courses are proving popular and provide an added boost to career options. Undergraduate students can choose to undertake a placement year, either in industry or in a partner institute abroad.
