With only a matter of weeks left until the world’s leading environmental trade fair – IFAT – shredding technology leader UNTHA has begun to reveal what visitors can expect at this year’s show.

Renowned globally for its continued approach to innovation, Austrian-headquartered UNTHA has often used IFAT as a platform to unveil its latest engineering breakthroughs and performance capabilities. And this year looks set to be no different.

Grassroots Recycling, a pioneer in plastic waste management, has taken a significant leap forward in its commitment to sustainable practices, with the investment into an LRK 1400 shredder from industry specialist UNTHA UK. This strategic step underscores Grassroots Recycling's dedication to enhancing operations and furthering its mission to assist Britain's farmers and growers in responsibly recycling plastic waste.

Busy distribution specialist K Engineering Group is one of the latest organisations to transform the tidiness, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness of its logistics site, with the help of an UNTHA shredder. 

A PS1300 pallet shredder has been installed at the firm’s West Midlands headquarters, saving the business over £15,000 in waste collection fees per year.

The growing business began life as a manufacturer in 1954, but now largely imports and distributes a range of heavy duty nuts, bolts, threaded fasteners and other socket products, from its three UK depots.

Austrian-headquartered UNTHA shredding technology has appointed a new global marketing director, as the engineering specialist plans a significant growth over the next five years.

Katie Mallinson joins the €80m turnover company following almost 15 years working with the business as a supplier. Until recently, she was managing director of global communications firm Scriba PR, which she founded in 2013.

MC Refrigeration Ltd has diverted over 24 tonnes of wood waste from landfill just three months after investing in a PS1300 pallet shredder from UNTHA UK — saving thousands in off-site disposal fees in the process.

The company — which specialises in the installation, removal, repair, and disposal of commercial refrigeration display equipment — contacted UNTHA UK within 20 minutes of seeing a PS1300 in action at another local refrigeration firm.

Headed up by trailblazer Jacqueline O’Donovan, the new initiative ensures that sustainability sits at the heart of the O'Donovan ethos and further demonstrates its commitment to reaching a circular economy by encouraging people to think differently about waste. The new hub is designed to encourage the reuse of what would have otherwise been waste. O’Donovan continues to promote the waste hierarchy to the maximum as they generate inventive ways to help increase reuse and work towards their target of net zero emissions by 2035.
